Since most of the original guests were hikers, they would return hungry and looking for a place to eat after climbing. They would inquire the locals, who would offer a friendly reply: “Keep going past Ruili Elementary School and you’ll see a teapot (the only one in Alishan to have an inlaid clock, which used to let hikers know when to come down from the mountain) where you can get a bite to eat! Over twenty years later, the teapot has become a landmark of Ruili, and just like it, the bed and breakfast and restaurant preserve the wonderful flavor of our memories!
