Aliban Ecological Farm is located in the Shimen District of New Taipei City, on a beautiful 10-plus-hectare valley around 130 meters above sea level. Only a couple of buildings sit on this exapnsive area, all of which are repurposed former farmhouses, now being used as guest accommodation or activity spaces. Aliban is a perfect place for nature lovers, boasting dense old-growth forest, broad grasslands and aquatic habitats, which leaves the air filled with the sounds of birds and frogs. The environment here is diverse in wildlife, with over 100 species of butterfly, over 70 species of birds, 19 species of frogs, and over 60 species of dragonfly. During the summer, you’ll find butterflies, dragonflies, cicadas, and beetles in the daytime and fireflies, frogs (including the endangered Rana taipehensis), and even recently molted cicadas at night. Aliban Ecological Farm is also active in education, not only providing professional guided tours, but also planning healthy, interesting, and educational outdoor activities, making it a great place for school trips. It also provides food, drinks, and accommodation, with delicious homemade food using local ingredients, including Shimen tea, black boar meat from Sanzhi, free-range chicken, and fresh seafood and vegetables. At the outdoor café, you can experience both the beauty of the mountain scenery and the wonderful fragrance of the coffee.
