The ancient houses in Kinmen are like pieces of art work, fused with western architectural esthetics and eastern classical flavor, which have been left behind by time. The buildings themselves seem to breathe a life of their own, telling their own tales to the people that walk into their doors. With a leisurely stroll, a traveler can be transported back to another time in history. If one is lucky enough to stay at one of these houses for a longer period of time; then they can really enjoy the LOHAS and romantic lifestyle. All of these reasons led me to name my B&B, Piano Piano. Piano Piano B&B is a renovated ancient house in Kinmen National Park. It is located just at the entrance of the village with its distinctive outer walls. Within the walls lies a renovated southern Fujian styled house. The house has history that dates back to the Ming dynasty. Under the clear, blue sky, we gave the old house a new face: with sunflower yellow as the color for the public areas and Tuscany orange in the bedrooms. The atmosphere is a mixture of the old house''s antiquity, south Pacific casualness, and the passion of southern Europe. It is a reflection of the house''s history with cultural clashes, which is also my preferred style of mixing and matching.
